N-4909 (1), which has a stimulating activity on apolipoprotein E secretion in humanhepatoma Hep G2 cells, was isolated from the culture broth of Bacillus sp. No. 4691 by Hiramoto et al.l) This compound (1) was also isolated from Bacillus sp.
